Joshua Flatla - Strategic Improvement Black Belt
MY STORY
Joshua Flatla is a Strategic Improvement Black Belt Consultant with over 18 years of comprehensive management and engineering experience in diversified manufacturing operations.
He is a certified Strategic Improvement Black Belt with a knack for Hoshin Kanri-style strategic planning and business planning systems and is highly proficient with operational excellence in best-in-class business processes of strategic planning, maintenance & reliability, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and quality management systems. He has a strong background in program development and quality assurance with an outstanding history of managing projects utilizing the DMAIC methodology and is especially skilled with a proven ability to build and lead highly effective teams for strategic planning, budget controls, and problem resolution.
While with Loram Maintenance of Way, Joshua established global strategies for Loram’s quality assurance programs while aligning with multiple sites and corporate goals, designed & implemented Loram’s annual strategic planning policy for the enterprise then annually facilitated global strategic planning, and implemented an enterprise risk management system which was integrated into the quality management system. He managed, coached, and mentored project leaders and strategic business priorities across 6 global businesses as well as certifying 200+ employees to Yellow Belt Six Sigma, 20 to Green Belt, and 14 Lean Practitioners.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Dakota, and certifications including strategic improvement Black Belt, Lean Practitioner-Gold Certified, Six Sigma Green Belt, and Certified Safety Professional.
